This BATD can be used for 2.5 hours towards a private pilot certificate, 10 hours towards an instrument rating, and It can also be used for instrument currency per FAR 61.57(c)(3)

 

  • Use of an aviation training device for maintaining instrument experience.

    Within the 2 calendar months preceding the month of the flight, that person performed and logged at least the following tasks, iterations, and time in an aviation training device and has performed the following--

    (i) Three hours of instrument experience.

    (ii) Holding procedures and tasks.

    (iii) Six instrument approaches.

    (iv) Two unusual attitude recoveries while in a descending, Vne airspeed condition and two unusual attitude recoveries while in an ascending, stall speed condition.

    (v) Interception and tracking courses through the use of navigational electronic systems.

YES! You sure as heck can!

 

The Rental Checkout: Your rental checkout will be performed by one of our flight instructors and will include but is not limited to:
 

  • Local Area Knowledge

  • Preflight activities

  • Aircraft performance & limitations

  • Weight & Balance equations

  • Understanding of Stalls

  • Traffic pattern procedures

  • Crosswind landings

  • Emergency procedures

 

All flight operations will be evaluated based on your highest pilot certificate level and will only be completed when consistent competency in crosswind conditions are demonstrated.

 

Please download & fill out the rental questioner located on the right hand side of the page and bring it in when you come in for your rental checkout.

 

Rental currency requires at least 3 takeoffs & landings to a full stop every 45 days for day VFR conditions. Night VFR rentals will be evaluated on a case by case basis. 

 

Exceeding these limits will require 3 takeoffs & landings to a full stop with one of our flight instructors.

 

Rental times require a minimum flight time of 1.0 hobbs hours per 2 hour block scheduled.
